When I (Steve) sit down to write a song I always start by listening to the music and just see what kind of emotions the music evokes. As soon as I heard the bluesy style of this one for some reason I went to a place of loss and it immediately made me think of lost love ones. At first I thought I would avoid this subject as it can be a difficult one to get right.
I wanted to write something that would not only capture my feelings but would also be relatable for everyone, so even though this song was specifically about a friend I wanted to give everyone a song that they would be able to listen to when they where having similar thoughts. With it being a sad subject I didn't want it to be depressing so with the chorus I tried to make it as uplifting as possible by sending the message that the person may be gone but they will never be forgotten and they would forever have a place in our hearts. I think its important to try and not think about the sadness of the loss but more the great memories that people have left with us, and I think that is what we managed to achieve in the end. Musically the lads did such an amazing job of setting the tone of the song so I felt under pressure to get this one right and by the looks of the response we have had so far I am really glad that everyone has taken to the song and some of the feedback has been amazing. Myself and the boys have been massively overwhelmed by the response to this one and we just hope we can live up to this now with future releases. Thanks for following us on this journey and we plan to have more new music coming to you very soon.
